Is Oneness (Apostolic, or Jesus Only) Pentecostalism Christian?
Key Doctrinal Distinctives:
1️⃣ God exists in three “modes” rather than three “persons.”
2️⃣ Salvation requires water baptism in Jesus’ name, not in the Trinitarian formula.
3️⃣ Salvation requires receiving the Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, rather than simple faith in Jesus’ person and work.
4️⃣ Only Oneness believers are considered saved, whereas Christians believe that believers across many denominations can be saved, even if their beliefs differ.
5️⃣ Oneness believers (at least the women) maintain distinctive dress and hairstyles that differentiate them from the larger society, whereas Christians are generally indistinguishable in dress from the larger society.
