ENG: Though Hip Hop basslines are usually quite simple, they teach you other things, like timing and tempo. And “Gospel for a New Century”, by @yvestumor has an interesting one. 4/4 sounds simple, right? It is… once you’ve figured out the instruments usually come in at the 4th beat, giving the song a strange feeling.
Once the strange timing is done, the bassline really begins, traveling up and down the D minor scale until the very rock and roll chorus, only for the whole thing to start again. Great song!
ESP: Aunque las líneas de bajo del Hip Hop suelen ser bastante simples, te enseñan otras cosas, como tiempo y tempo. Y el de “Gospel for a New Century”, de Yves Tumor, es interesante. 4/4 suena simple, ¿no? Lo es… una vez que entiendes que los instrumentos entran en el 4o beat del compás, por lo que la canción se siente extraña.
Una vez que se termina el tiempo extraño, la línea de bajo entra a full, viajando de arriba a abajo en la escala de Re menor hasta el coro rockanrolero, solo para que todo se repita de nuevo. ¡Gran canción!
