Biblical Meditation is Not the Same as Buddhist Eastern Meditation

Eastern meditation empties the mind; Christian meditation fills it.
Eastern meditation detaches; Christian meditation attaches to God.
Eastern meditation is passive; Christian meditation is active.
Eastern meditation is demonic; Christian meditation is Holy Spirit-inspired.

Worldly meditation misses the point:
👉 Worship of God is replaced with self-focus.
👉 Confession of sin is replaced with burning candles.
👉 Repentance is replaced with soothing music, breathing, and being in nature.
👉 Scripture is made secondary to mantras taken out of context from the Bible.

How to practically meditate on God’s Word?

👉 Find time and place where you are least distracted.
👉 Start with prayer and worship to God, lean on the Holy Spirit.
👉 Choose a small portion of the Scripture that the Spirit impresses on your heart.
