Matthew West sings from the soul. The 43-year-old Illinois native wrote his first tunes in his minister-father’s church during breaks from college. During the last 20 years, West has penned music for both inside and outside the Christian realm – Casting Crowns and Rascal Flatts have both sung his songs.
